Windows phone 7: no flash, no tethering, no multitasking, no background apps, no html5, is it relevant?

Microsoft has finally unveiled Windows Phone 7. The real interesting news is what is missing. It lacks support for background apps (sorry, Pandora), no multi-tasking, no copy&paste. Want more? No HTML5, no Flash…

But the media is quite about that. Microsoft gets from the media a different treatment than Apple. Think about that…

Well, Microsoft is not dead. But it is not alive, either. Windows 7 has a lower adoption rate than Vista. Most users are still using winXP. IE is losing ground constantly.

Flash, let's face it, is the Betamax of today. All iOS devices, iPads, iPhones, iPods, don't carry Flash. Same is true for all other smatphones. Only Android support it, and not without problems and slowdowns.

The netbooks are the CD's of today. They still exist, cheap and disposable, but are not the first choice anymore. In the mobile OS world, it is iOS and Android. In the tablets world, it is iOS and ChromeOS(?) and maybe HP/Palm os when becomes available. Google says Android is not fit for tablets, and LG agrees.

Windows? Microsoft? Neither here nor there… That's life, folks…
